Carbohydrate rich food is another important cause of this infection in the oral cavities. Diabetes can make an individual more susceptible to these conditions.

Thrush treatment for adults and children can be easily effected if detected in the early stages. The normal duration of such treatment is about a fortnight by taking antifungal medications which may be in the form of liquids, lozenges or tablets. The physician will have to make the prescription as per the age of the affected individual and severity of the symptoms. It must be noted that presence of thrush infection is indicative of other disorders and ailments which must be tested for immediately. The antimycotics are the most common antifungal medication used in these cases. Dose of fluconazole is considered quite effective in case of vaginitis. Chlorine dioxide rinse is also recommended in those children who are likely to develop such infection in the oral cavities.
